Fairy Tail Creator Shares First Look at New Dead Rock Characters

 


Fairy Tail and Edens Zero series creator Hiro Mashima is gearing up for his next manga project, and he recently offered fans a sneak peek at some of the new characters appearing in the upcoming Dead Rock series. As his current weekly serialization of Edens Zero nears its conclusion in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, Mashima is already setting his sights on future endeavors. Alongside his ongoing projects, it was announced that he will be launching a new manga as well.


Mashima previously revealed that Dead Rock will debut in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine, with the first chapter scheduled for release on July 6th. In anticipation of the series, he has unveiled the initial look of the main character named Yakuto. Additionally, Mashima recently shared two sketches showcasing a glimpse of two more characters set to appear in Dead Rock. He informed fans on Twitter that these designs might undergo further changes before their final debut in the manga.  What Is Hiro Mashima's Dead Rock? 

"Dead Rock" is an upcoming short-term serialization created by Hiro Mashima, the renowned mangaka behind Fairy Tail and Edens Zero. The series is set to debut in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine on July 6th. The story revolves around Yakuto, a young demon who aspires to gain entry into the rigorous Demon King training academy called Dead Rock. The dynamic between the two central characters, Yakuto and the Demon King, remains shrouded in mystery. It is yet to be unveiled whether they will become allies or adversaries, but eager fans can look forward to discovering the truth soon.


In addition to "Dead Rock," Hiro Mashima has several other exciting projects in the works. The second season of the Edens Zero anime, comprising the latter half of episodes, will continue airing throughout the Summer 2023 anime schedule. These episodes are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, Fairy Tail enthusiasts can anticipate the anime adaptation of the official sequel series, Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest. However, the release date for this adaptation has not been disclosed at the time of writing.
