One Piece's highly anticipated live-action series is scheduled to debut on Netflix this summer, specifically on August 31st. The latest trailer has unveiled the casting and appearances of the initial members of the Straw Hat Pirates. However, there is speculation that one key crew member may not appear in the first season, despite playing a significant role in the beloved shonen franchise. Tony Tony Chopper, the Straw Hat Pirates' skilled doctor who happens to be a talking reindeer, has garnered attention through new cosplay that reimagines him as a human character.

Interestingly, Chopper joins the Going Merry as the crew's next addition following the enlistment of Sanji as their chef. While his primary expertise lies in medicine, tending to the wounds of his fellow pirates during their treacherous journey through the Grand Line, Chopper occasionally surprises others with his hidden strength beneath his diminutive stature. Through his ability to transform into a much more formidable version of himself, Chopper has emerged as one of the crew's most remarkable members, consistently proving his worth throughout the two-plus decades that creator Eiichiro Oda has dedicated to the series.

One Piece: Human Chopper

Although Chopper is unlikely to be part of the initial lineup of the Straw Hat Pirates in the first season of Netflix's live-action series, there is still a possibility that he might make a cameo appearance. Similar to how Ed appeared in the post-credit scene of Netflix's live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop, Chopper could potentially have a similar treatment. However, given Chopper's unique characteristics, faithfully bringing him to life would necessitate extensive and impressive CGI work, considering the series' commitment to staying true to its source material.

Chopper has been prominently featured in recent story arcs of the One Piece manga, playing a pivotal role with his invaluable medical expertise in the intense battles faced by Luffy and his crew. As each member of the Straw Hats strives to fulfill their dreams before the series concludes, Chopper's aspiration of becoming a capable doctor capable of curing any illness is gradually coming closer to fruition. Particularly showcased through his remarkable virus-curing methods in the Wano Arc, Tony Tony has established himself as a formidable medical force to be reckoned with.
