Warrior Nun Will Return for Season 3 after Netflix Cancelation

Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Berry has recently made an exciting announcement, confirming the return of the show for a third season despite its initial cancellation by Netflix.

Exciting news for fans of Warrior Nun as the series has been confirmed for a highly anticipated third season. Series creator Simon Barry took to Twitter to announce the show's return and express gratitude towards the fans for their tremendous support. In his tweet, Barry acknowledged the collective voices, passion, and remarkable efforts of the fans, which ultimately led to the renewal. He teased that the upcoming season would be even more epic than imagined, promising more details to come soon. As of now, it remains unknown whether Season 3 will premiere on Netflix or find a new platform.

Warrior Nun made its debut on Netflix in July 2020 and quickly garnered a dedicated fan base. Shortly after its premiere, the show was renewed for a second season in August of the same year. Following the release of Season 2, passionate Warrior Nun fans rallied together, launching campaigns urging Netflix to greenlight a third season. The fan support had a significant impact, as Season 1 even returned to Netflix's global top ten list for television shows.

However, the news took a disappointing turn when Netflix announced in December 2022 that it would not be renewing the supernatural drama for another season. Warrior Nun showrunner Simon Barry took to social media to express his gratitude to the devoted fans who tirelessly worked to bring attention to the series and showed immense love to the cast and production team. He acknowledged the fans' efforts and shared his privilege in being part of the show.

Fans Launch Campaign to #SaveWarriorNun

Determined to bring back the show, fans of Warrior Nun launched a compelling online campaign with the hashtag #SaveWarriorNun. Their dedication went beyond the digital realm as they even erected a series of billboards near Netflix's Los Angeles office. Showrunner Simon Berry expressed his appreciation for the fervent fan engagement, recognizing the remarkable support the show had garnered. He also shared that the rights holders, Productivity Media, intended to explore avenues to continue the series.

Warrior Nun draws inspiration from the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala, created by Ben Dunn and first introduced in 1993's Ninja High School #37. The series follows the journey of Ava Silva, portrayed by Alba Baptista, an orphan who becomes part of an ancient order of warrior nuns. Throughout the series, Ava learns to harness her newly acquired superpowers to combat an ancient evil. The second season concluded with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eagerly anticipating the resolution. However, with the recent announcement of the show's renewal, loyal fans can now anticipate a proper ending to the story they deserve.

At this time, no release date has been confirmed for Warrior Nun Season 3.
