Andor Season 2 Is Seemingly Returning to an Iconic Phantom Menace Planet

Leaked set photos from the production of Andor Season 2 suggest that the beloved Star Wars series will revisit one of the iconic locations from The Phantom Menace.

The images, originally shared on Reddit, showcase Hever Castle in England, known for its role as the real-world shooting location for Naboo, the picturesque home planet of Padmé featured in the Prequel Trilogy. According to the original poster, their father spoke to the production team and learned that the scenes being set up at Hever Castle would take place on the aforementioned planet. It should be noted that Lucasfilm has yet to officially confirm the authenticity of these images, so it's advisable to approach them with a grain of salt.

While details about Andor Season 2 are scarce at the moment, filming is currently underway. The first season pleasantly surprised many Star Wars fans who were initially skeptical about the show's potential. It garnered positive reviews from critics and quickly became a beloved addition to the franchise. Season 2 is expected to maintain the series' strong character development and intriguing storytelling that viewers have come to appreciate under the leadership of Diego Luna. However, it also aims to introduce fresh elements to keep the narrative engaging.

Andor Changes With the Times

One notable change in Season 2 of Andor is the shifting timeline, as the story will unfold over several years, with each year encompassing a three-episode arc. Actress Genevieve O'Reilly, reprising her role as Mon Mothma, shared her excitement about this narrative structure, stating, "The excitement of leaping a year every three episodes drives the story forward in a captivating and compelling manner. It has been fascinating to be part of both last season and this season and witness the difference in storytelling and how we structure the narrative."

Andor chronicles the journey of the main character, Cassian Andor, as he transitions from a directionless outcast to a committed leader of the Rebellion against the oppressive Empire. Season 2, serving as the show's final installment, will lead directly to the events depicted in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In the film, Cassian embarks on his crucial mission to retrieve the Death Star plans and transmit them to the Rebel forces.

As of now, Andor Season 2 does not have a confirmed release date.
