Nier: Automata Anime Releases Trailer for Season 1's New Episodes

Nier: Automata's long-awaited anime adaptation is set to make a comeback with the final episodes of its first cour later this month, and fans have been treated to a special trailer offering a glimpse into the concluding arc of the season. The anime, titled Nier: Automata: Ver1.1a, serves as a companion to Square Enix's immensely popular video game. However, due to production delays caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the anime had experienced setbacks. Nevertheless, fans can now look forward to the release of the remaining episodes.

Initially, Nier: Automata was planned for two cours, consisting of a total of 24 episodes. However, there have been changes in the schedule. The final four episodes of Nier: Automata: Ver1.1a's first cour will premiere on a single day, July 23rd. To celebrate this exciting development, a thrilling trailer showcasing Episodes 9-12 has been unveiled. Unfortunately, the release schedule for future episodes has yet to be announced at the time of writing.

While a second cour was originally planned for Nier: Automata: Ver1.1a's debut season, no specific release window has been announced for Part 2. Given the tumultuous scheduling circumstances the anime has faced since its inception, the release of the second wave of episodes may be further delayed. Nonetheless, with the simultaneous premiere of Episodes 9-12, fans can still anticipate an action-packed continuation. Currently, Nier: Automata: Ver1.1a is available for streaming exclusively on Crunchyroll, allowing viewers to catch up on the series thus far.
