Comedian Ryōta Yamasato Joins Cast of City Hunter Anime Film

In the latest update from the City Hunter franchise, the upcoming anime film titled "City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust" (Gekijо̄ban City Hunter: Tenshi no Namida) has announced an exciting addition to its cast. Ryōta Yamasato, known for his comedic talents as part of the duo Nankai Candies, will lend his voice to a character in the film. Yamasato's role involves portraying a character who tries to woo Angie and extends an invitation for a date.

As the anticipation builds for the film's release, fans are eager to see how Yamasato's comedic prowess will bring this intriguing character to life in the world of City Hunter. With the franchise's long-standing popularity, this new addition is sure to add an extra layer of excitement to the highly anticipated anime film.






The upcoming City Hunter anime film, "City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust" (Gekijо̄ban City Hunter: Tenshi no Namida), introduces a compelling lineup of new characters, each brought to life by a talented cast.

Miyuki Sawashiro takes on the role of Angie, an overseas movie producer who arrives in Japan with a unique mission. Her task is to film a movie featuring her adventurous cat traveling across Japan. However, when the cat unexpectedly goes missing, Angie seeks the assistance of City Hunter to find her beloved feline companion.

Kenyuu Horiuchi portrays Shin Kaibara, a battle-hardened mercenary leader with a mysterious past. Notably, he once raised the orphaned Ryō and trained him as a skilled warrior, adding depth and complexity to the story.

Tomokazu Seki lends his voice to Pirarucu, a formidable member of the "Wetworks" assassination team. With his deadly skills and unwavering loyalty, Pirarucu becomes an integral part of the film's thrilling plot.

Completing the ensemble is Subaru Kimura, who embodies Espada, another member of the "Wetworks" assassination team. His unique set of abilities and interactions with the other characters promise to add intensity and intrigue to the film's action sequences.







The upcoming City Hunter anime film will feature the three Kisugi thief sisters from Cat's Eye, directed by Kenji Kodama and written by Yasuyuki Mutō. It will explore Ryo Saeba's past and his old partner's death, with returning voice actors from the original series. The film opens in Japan on September 8, 2023, and Anime Limited will screen it in North America, the U.K., and Ireland in 2024.
