'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess Manga Gets TV Anime Next January

Publisher Shueisha has announced that the captivating manga series "Tis Time for 'Torture,' Princess" by Robinson Haruhara and Hirakei will soon make its highly anticipated debut as a television anime in January 2024. The story delves into the plight of a courageous princess held captive and subjected to merciless tortures orchestrated by the nefarious Hellhorde.
With its gripping narrative and stunning artwork, the manga quickly gained popularity after its launch on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ service in Japan on April 4, 2019. The English version of the manga became available through Shueisha's MANGA Plus service in October of the same year. Boasting over 200 million views online and 11 volumes released to date, "Tis Time for 'Torture,' Princess" has captivated readers worldwide.
The upcoming anime adaptation is set to be helmed by the talented director Yōko Kanemori, renowned for her work on acclaimed series such as "The Ancient Magus' Bride" and her contribution as an episode director for "Attack on Titan." Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, known for his exceptional series composition on "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" and "Dropkick on My Devil!," will be responsible for crafting the compelling scripts.
Elevating the visual aesthetics of the characters are the skilled character designers Toshiya Kōno and Satoshi Furuhashi, while the captivating musical score will be composed by the esteemed artist Masaru Yokoyama, whose notable works include "Queen's Blade: The Exiled Virgin" and "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans."
Robinson Haruhara's talent for storytelling has not gone unnoticed, as their previous manga series "Senyū." garnered immense popularity and received two successful television anime adaptations in 2013. Both seasons were made available for streaming on Crunchyroll, further expanding the series' fanbase. Additionally, their manga "Gakumon! Ōkami Shōjo wa Kujikenai" became the inspiration for a captivating Flash anime in 2014.
