Baki: Son of Ogre 2nd Season Reveals Additional Cast and Second Promo for Second Cour



On Thursday, the official website of the Baki anime series unveiled a promotional video and announced that three new cast members will join the anime series. Megumi Hayashibara, known for her role in "Neon Genesis Evangelion," will voice Emi Akezawa. Hidekatsu Shibata, recognized for his work in "Fullmetal Alchemist," will lend his voice to Yuuichirou Hanma. Fumihiko Tachiki, famous for his role in "Bleach," will portray the character Kaiser. Fans can anticipate these talented actors' performances adding depth to the thrilling anime, which will premiere on August 24 following the global release of its first part on Netflix on July 26.








Toshiki Hirano, who previously directed "Baki," is returning to helm the new season at TMS Entertainment. The seasoned team behind the anime includes Tatsuhiko Urahata, known for "Muv-Luv Alternative," as the series composition writer. Shingo Ishikawa, responsible for the character designs in "Baki: Dai Raitaisai-hen," is back in the same role for this season. The music composer for the series is Kenji Fujisawa, recognized for his work on "Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi."

Excitingly, the opening theme "Sarracenia" will be performed by singer SKY-HI, known for contributions to "Gurazeni" and "Gundam Build Divers." Meanwhile, the ending theme "Salvia" will be performed by the talented boy band BE:FIRST.

Hanma Baki: Son of Ogre, the sequel manga by Keisuke Itagaki, was launched in December 2005, right after the conclusion of Baki: New Grappler Baki in November of the same year. The manga concluded in Shounen Champion in August 2012. After that, Itagaki ran Baki-dou in the same magazine from March 2014 to April 2018, followed by the second part, which ran from October 2018 to June 15. The 16th volume was released on May 8.
