Heels Debuts Emotional Season 2 Trailer

STARZ has unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for the second season of its critically acclaimed drama series, Heels, which features Stephen Amell (known for his role in Arrow) and Alexander Ludwig (renowned for his portrayal in Vikings).

The newly released trailer for the small-town sports drama delves into the question, "Who stands by your side?" The series revolves around a wrestling league situated in rural Georgia and is aptly named after the wrestling term for a villain or antagonist. In Heels Season 2, viewers will be taken back to the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL), a family-owned organization, where the brothers and rivals, Jack (Amell) and Ace Spade (Ludwig), continue their ongoing struggle over their late father's legacy and their own interpretations of triumph. Simultaneously, they grapple with discovering their own identities as either a heroic "face" or a nefarious "heel."

Heels, a drama series created by Michael Waldron, the showrunner of Loki, made its debut on Starz on August 15, 2021. The first season, consisting of eight episodes, concluded in October of the same year. For Stephen Amell, known for his iconic portrayal of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in The CW's Arrowverse, Heels marked his return to television after his eight-year tenure on the show ended in 2020. Similarly, for Alexander Ludwig, celebrated for his role in History/Prime Video's Vikings, Heels served as his first major leading role following the conclusion of Vikings.

What Happens in Heels Season 2?

The official synopsis for the upcoming season of Heels provides a glimpse into the story ahead: "Season two kicks off following a remarkable performance at the South Georgia State Fair, propelling the Duffy Wrestling League into newfound popularity. With this opportunity in sight, Jack and his team gear up for a potential partnership with a streaming service that could launch them onto the national stage. However, the shadows of the past and its tragedies loom, threatening to disrupt everything as Ace walks away from Duffy and the Dome, while the vindictive leader of rival promotion Florida Wrestling Dystopia, Gully, seeks revenge."

Heels is a production of O'Malley Ink and LBI Entertainment in collaboration with Lionsgate Television, presented on Starz. Showrunner and executive producer Mike O'Malley not only oversees the series but also portrays the recurring character Charlie Gully, the owner and impresario of Florida Wrestling Dystopia. Additional executive producers on the show include Christopher Donnelly, Pete Segal, Patrick Walmsley, and Julie Yorn.

Heels Season 2 is set to premiere on the STARZ app on Friday, July 28 at midnight ET, followed by a simultaneous broadcast on STARZ at 10:00 PM ET/PT in the United States and Canada.
